Ingredients

  • बटाटा / आलू / Potato – 5
  • मीठ / नमक / Salt
  • तेल / Oil – for frying
  • साबूदाना / Tapioca powder – 1/4 cup
  • िजरे / जीरा / Cumin powder- 1 tsp
  • आमचूर / Aamchoor powder – 1 tsp
  • ितखट / लाल िमर्च / Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • काळ मीठ / काला नमक / Pink Salt -1/4 tsp

Making

  1. Peel potatoes and cut in large pieces
  2. Add 1 tsp salt to water, soak potato for 5 min
  3. Take potato and wipe all water
  4. Now heat oil and add potatoes, fry till potatoes are cooked
  5. Now flatten potatoes by pressing them in between 2 plates
  6. In a plate take tapioca/sabudana powder add 1 tsp salt, mix well
  7. Coat fried potatoes in sabudana powder
  8. Fry coated potatoes again till crispy, repeat for all potato pieces
  9. In a bowl add cumin powder, Aamchoor powder, chili powder, pink salt, mix well
  10. Now sprinkle masala over fried potatoe, toss to coat well
  11. Aloo tuk is ready!

Tips

  • You can use baby potatoes as well
  • Air frying is alternative to oil frying
  • Serve hot with tamarind / pudina chutney

How to serve

  1. Serve hot with chutney
