Ingredients
- दूध / Milk – 1/2 cup
- खजूर / Dates (seedless) – 1.5 cup
- तूप / घी / Ghee – 2 tbsp
- बदाम / बादाम / Almonds – 1 tbsp
- काजू / Cashew – 1 tbsp
- अक्रोड / अखरोट / Walnut – 1 tbsp
- वेलदोडा / इलायची / Cardamom – 1/4 tsp
Instructions
- Cut dates, and discard seeds
- Soak dates in warm milk for 30 min
- Now grind the dates to make fine paste
- Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan, add chopped almonds, cashews, walnuts, roast till crunchy, set aside
- Now in the same pan, add 1 tbsp ghee, add dates paste, roast for 4-5 min
- Add 1/4 water, mix well, roast for additional 3-4 min
- Add roasted nuts, mix well
- Add cardamom powder, mix well
- Dates halwa is ready!
Tips
- Roast dates paste well to best flavors
- Add ghee to while cooking to give halwa nice texture
- No sugar needed for this recipe
