Ingredients

  • भेंडी / Okra – 500 gms
  • तेल / Oil – 2 tbsp
  • शेंगदाने / मूंगफल्ली / Peanuts – 2 tbsp
  • मोहरी / राई / Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • िजरे / जीरा / Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • िहरवी िमरची / हरी िमर्च / Green Chili – 4-5
  • कढीपत्ता / Curry leaves – 8-10
  • लसुन / लेहसुन / Garlic – 1 tbsp
  • हळद / हल्दी / Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • मीठ / नमक / Salt – per taste
  • कोथंबीर / धिनया पत्ता / Chopped coriander leaves
  • िलम्बू / नींबू / Lime juice – 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean okra/bhendi, dry it completely before chopping
  2. Chop okra to 1/2 inch pieces
  3. Take a pan, heat oil,
  4. Add peanuts, saute till peanuts are crunchy
  5. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, saute till mustard splutter
  6. Add chopped green chilis, saute till chilis are cooked
  7. Add curry leaves, suate for 20 sec
  8. Add chopped garlic, saute for 30 sec
  9. Add chopped okra/ bhendi, mix well
  10. Add turmeric, mix well
  11. Add salt to taste, mix well
  12. Cover and cook 4-5 mi or until okra is soft
  13. Add coriander leaves, mix well
  14. Add lime juice, mix well
  15. Okra is ready to serve!

Tips

  1. Wash and dry okra/bhendi throughly before cutting
  2. Adjust cooking time till behndi is tender, cooking time may vary with type of bhendi
  3. Coarsely grind peanuts can also be used instead of whole peanuts
  4. Server with chapati, roti
