Ingredients – Cake
- खजूर / Dates (chopped) – 1 cup
- गरम दूध / Hot Milk – 1 cup
- केळी / केला / Banana (ripe) – 2
- Vanilla Essence – 1 tbsp
- मैदा / Maida / White flour – 1/4 cup
- कोको / Cocoa Powder – 1/2 cup
- बेकिंग पाउडर / Baking Powder – 2 tsp
- बेकिंग सोडा / Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp
- मीठ / नमक / Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Oats powder – 1 cup
- रवा / सूजी / Sooji – 1/4 cup
- अक्रोड / Walnut – 1 tbsp small pieces
- Chocolate pieces
Making Cake
- Soak dates in hot milk for 20-30 min,
- Grind soaked dates to fine paste
- Peel bananas and grind with dates paste
- Add vanilla essence to the paste, mix well
- Now sieve white flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder together and mix well
- Add oats powder, mix well
- Add Sooji mix well
- Add the four mix to the wet ingredients in batches, mix well
- Make sure that there are no lumps
- Grease cake pan, add parchment paper, pour cake batter to pan
- Spread evenly, give it couple of taps
- Preheat oven on 350 degree Fahrenheit/ 180 degree celsius
- Bake cake for 35-40 min
- Check cake by inserting toothpick in cake, remove cake tin, let it cool for 5 min
- Demold cake, remove parchment pepper and let it cool completely, cover with a cloth while cooling
- Once cooled down, cut dried side(edges) of cake

- Soaking dates in hot milk helps with with fine smooth paste
- Covering cake with cloth when cooling, helps retain moisture in cake
- Seiving dry ingredients is important to get spongy cake
- Adding little flour at a time helps prevent lumps
