Ingredients – Tomato Chutney
- तेल / Oil – 2 tbsp
- मोहरी / राई / Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
- हींग / Asafoetida – a pinch
- जीर / जीरा / Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- कढीपत्ता / Curry leaves – 8-10
- मिर्ची / Green Chili (sliced)- 4-5
- लसुन / लेहसुन / Garlic – 1 tsp
- कांदा / प्याज / Onion – 1 chopped
- टमाटर / Tomato cut – 5-6
- मीठ / नमक / Salt – as per taste
- हळद / हल्दी / Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- तिखट/ लाल मिर्ची/ Chili powder- 2 tsp
- गुड़ / Jaggery – 1 tbsp
- शेंगदाने / मूंगफल्ली /roasted Peanuts powder – 1/4 cup
- कोथंबीर / धिनया / Coriander
Making Tomato Chutney
- Heat pan on medium, add oil
- Add mustard seeds let them splutter, add cumin seeds and asafetida, mix well
- Add curry leaves, sliced green chilis and garlic, fry them well
- Add chopped onion and sauté them until soft and cooked
- Add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, mix well and cook for 3-4 min
- Now add jaggery, peanut powder, mix well, cover and cook for 6-7 min, until all flavors mixed well
- Garnish with coriender
- Serve with paratha, roti, chutney
Tips
- If tomatos are not sour enough, add little lemon juice to chutney
