Ingredients – Dahi chili

  • फिक्की मिरची / Non spicy Green Chili – 125 gms
  • तेल / Oil – 2 tbsp
  • मोहरी / राई / Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • हींग / Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  • जीर / जीरा / Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • कलोंजी / Nigella seeds – 1/2 ts[
  • हळद / हल्दी / Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
  • धने / धनिया / Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • बडीशेप/ सौंफ/ Fennel seeds powder – 1 tsp
  • आमचूर / Aamchoor powder – 1/2 tsp
  • तिखट / लाल मिर्च/ Chili powder- 1/2 tsp
  • मीठ / नमक / Salt – as per taste
  • Water – 1/4 cup
  • साखर / शक्कर / Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  • दही / Curd – 1/4 cup
  • शेंगदाने/ मूंगफल्ली/ Peanuts crushed- 2 tbsp
  • Coriander for garnishing

Preparing Dahi Chili

  1. Slit all the chilis once
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, let it pop.
  3. Add asafetida/ hing, cumin seeds, nigella seeds to the pan, mix well, sauté for for about 30 sec
  4. Add turmeric, coriander powder, fennel seeds powder, Aamchoor powder, chili powder, salt to taste, mix well, sauté for 30 sec
  5. Add water to pan, mix well
  6. Cover and cook for 2 min on med
  7. add sugar, curd, crushed peanuts, mix well, cover and cook for another 2 min
  8. Dahi chili is ready! Garnish with coriander

Tips

  1. Refrigerate if using for 3-2 days
  2. Non spicy chilis are best suited for this recipe
  3. If using spicy chilies dont add chili powder

How to serve

  1. Serve fresh
  2. Serve as side dish with paratha, khichdi, etc
