  • बदाम / Almonds – 250 gms
  • साखर / शक्कर / Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • दूध / Milk – 2 tbsp
  • केसर / Kesar – a pinch
  • तूप / घी/ Ghee – 2 tsp


  1. Boil water in pot, and turn off the heat
  2. Add almonds to the pot, cover and set aside for 5 min
  3. Remove almonds from water, let it cool down
  4. Peel all almonds
  5. Let the almonds dry completely overnight
  6. Grind dried almonds to fine powder
  7. In a bowl take warm milk, add a pinch of kesar, mix well, set aside for 5 min
  8. Heat pan on medium, add sugar and water. Mix well and cook on medium till it thickens and form single string syrup
  9. Add kesar milk, mix well
  10. Add almond powder, mix well, cook on med till mixture starts to leave pan. Check binding consistency by forming ball in palm, turn off heat and cool down to warm
  11. Once dough is cool, massage to make it smooth
  12. Take a small lime size portion, roll to make round, now gently press to give peda shape
  13. Decorate with fine chopped nuts
  14. Quick and fast Almond peda is ready!


  1. Grind almonds to fine powder to get best texture
  2. Soaking almonds in hot water helps with peeling
  3. This is a fasting recipe, can be consumed while fasting
  4. Store in airtight container for 5-4 days in refrigerator
