Ingredients – Bhadang / Murmure chivda
- मुरमुरे / मामरा / Puffed Rice – 250 gm
- तेल / Oil – 5 tbsp
- मोहरी / राई / Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- शेंगदाने / मूंगफल्ली / Peanuts – 1/2 cup
- लसुन/लेहसुन/ Garlic sliced – 2-3 cloves
- मिरची / Non spicy green Chili – 4-5
- कढीपत्ता / Curry leaves – 1/4 cup
- डाळ्या / Daria split – 1/4 cup
- तिखट / लाल मिर्च / Chili powder – 3 tsp
- हळद / हल्दी / Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- मीठ / नमक / Salt – as per taste
- जीरेपूड / जीरा / Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- साखर / शक्कर / Sugar – 1/2 tbsp
Making Bhadang / Murmure chivda
- Clean puffed rice to remove small pieces, sieve small quantity at a time
- Keep puffed rice in sunlight to make them extra crispy or microwave them for 20 sec at time until get nice crispy
- Heat oil for seasoning on medium
- Add mustard seeds let the mustard seeds splutter, add peanuts, fry till crispy on low
- Add garlic, green chili, curry leaves roast till crunchy on low heat
- Add Daria/dalya roast for 1 min, turn off heat
- Add red chili, turmeric, sugar, cumin powder, mix well
- Now pour this seasoning mix on puffed rice, mix everything together, toss gently moving from bottom to top
- Toss till all puffed rice gets seasoning coat.
- Crispy, spicy Bhadang is ready!
Tips
- Keeping in sunlight for 2 hours is alternative to microwave, for extra crispness
- Roast all seasoning ingredients to crisp for perfect crunchy Bhadang
- Adjust spiciness to your liking
- Store in airtight container for prolonged crispness and freshness
