Tres Leches Chocolate Cake

Ingredients – Cake

  • मैदा / Maida / White flour – 3/4 cup
  • बेकिंग सोडा / Baking Soda – a pinch
  • बेकिंग पाउडर / Baking Powder – 1 tsp
  • मीठ / नमक / Salt – 1/8 tsp
  • Butter – 1/4 cup
  • साखर / शक्कर / Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • दही / Curd – 1/4 cup
  • दूध / Milk – 1/3 cup
  • Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup

Making Cake

Preparing Cake batter

  1. Sieve flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt together and mix well, keep aside
  2. In another bowl take soft butter whisk butter for 2 min, add sugar and whisk both together for 3-4 min, once mix gets fluffy and light add curd, wisk again for 2 min
  3. Now add flour, mix everything together
  4. Now in warm milk add cocoa powder mix completely and add to cake batter, give it mix
  5. chocolate cake batter is ready
  6. Take cake metal tin / bowl, grease with butter, or place parchment paper at the bottom to avoid sticking the cake
  7. Pour batter to tin, spread evenly
  8. Cover cake tin with aluminum foil

Steaming cake

  1. Take large steamer, which would fit the cake batter tin, pour water in and prepare steamer
  2. Heat steamer until water gets hot
  3. Now carefully place the cake batter tin in steamer, cover with lid and steam the cake for 55-60 min on medium heat
  4. After about 55 min insert a small knife, toothpick in the cake to check if it is cooked, a completely baked cake would not have any batter sticking to the knife/toothpick
  1. Once cake is ready, demold after 5 min, remove the cake from pot, let it cook down completely

Ingredients – Chocolate milk

  • Chocolate – 25gm
  • दूध / Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Condensed Milk – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh cream – 3 tbsp

Instruction – Chocolate milk

  1. Take Mixing bowl grate chocolate, add hot milk to it stir till chocolate dissolve
  2. Add condense milk and fresh cream
  3. Stir nice and mix all milks together, chocolate milk is ready
  4. Place cake in parchment paper or any deep pan, poke holes in cake all over using toothpick or fork
  5. Pour chocolate milk over cake little at time and let the cake soak in chocolate milk, pour all milk
  6. Refrigerate cake for 1-2 hour before icing
  7. After 1 hour, place cake on serving plate, discard excess chocolate milk

Ingredients – Chocolate icing

  • Dark chocolate chips – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh cream – 3/4 cup
  • साखर / शक्कर / Sugar – 1 tbsp

Instruction – Chocolate icing

  1. In mixing bowl add chocolate chip and warm fresh cream, mix well to dissolve chocolate completely
  2. Add sugar, mix well
  3. Refrigerate icing mix for 1 hour
  4. After 1 hour whip mix till it becomes light and fluffy
  5. Icing is ready, apply evenly over cake, then refrigerate cake again for 1 hour
  6. Tres Leche Chocolate cake is ready, cut and dust with cocoa powder

Tips

  1. Oven baking is alternative to steaming, bake at350 F/ 177 C for 45-50 min
  2. If hand whipping icing, whipp only in one direction
  3. Icing may melt if not refregerated enough

How to serve

  1. Refrigerate before serving
