Ingredients
- कार्ले / करेला / Bitter Gourd – 5
- तेल / Oil – 2 tbsp
- लिंबू/ नींबू / Lime juice – 1 tsp
- शेंगदाने / मूंगफल्ली / Peanuts – 1 cup
- मिर्ची / Whole Red Chili dry – 2-3 pc
- लसुन / लेहसुन / Garlic – 3-4 cloves
- कोथंबीर / धनिया पत्ता / Coriander
- तिखट / लाल मिर्च / Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- मीठ / नमक / Salt – as per taste
Instructions
- Wash and dry Bitter gourd
- Slit Bitter Gourd and remove hard seeds or can keep seeds if desired
- Apply little salt and lemon juice mixture inside of Bitter gourd
- Heat pan on medium heat, add 1 tbsp oil and put all Bitter gourd in pan cover pan, cover and cook on low-medium for 7-8 mins, Turn of heat and remove in plate
- Heat pan on medium, roast peanuts till golden and crunchy remove in plate
- Roast whole red chillies just for 1 minute on low
- Now for filling grind roasted peanuts, red chillies, garlic, coriander leaves, red chili powder and salt together
- Put filling inside of all Bitter gourd
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in pan on low- medium heat
- Placed all stuffed Bitter gourd in pan, cover and cook for 9-10 mins on low-medium heat, turn regularly to cook from all sides
- Tasty stuffed Bitter gourd/ Bharwan Karela is ready to serve
Tips
- Applying lime juice and salt mix to bitter gourd before cooking reduces bitterness
- Removing hard seeds is optional
- Kids will like Karli /Karela / Bitter gourd in this form
