Ingredients – Masala

  • तेल / Oil – 2 tsp
  • लसुन / लेहसुन / Garlic – 3-4
  • अद्रक / अदरक / Ginger – 2 inch
  • कांदा / प्याज / Onion – 1
  • खोब्र / नािरयल / Coconut (grated)- 1/4 cup
  • डाळ्या / दलिया / Daria split – 1 tbsp
  • धणे पूड / धनिया पाउडर / Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
  • जिरे पूड / धनिया पाउडर / Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • ितखट / लाल िमर्च / Chili powder – 2 tsp

Instructions Masala

  1. In a pan add oil, heat on medium
  2. Add garlic, ginger, saute till light golden
  3. Add onion, sauté till onion are soft
  4. Add coconut, mix well, saute for 2-3 min, turn off heat let it cool down
  5. Now grind daria splits to fine powder
  6. Add roasted masala, coriander powder, and cumin powder, chili powder, grind everything to fine paste
  7. Masala is ready!

Ingredients – Curry

  • सुकी कोळंबी / सूखा झींगा / Dried shrimp – 100 gms
  • तेल / Oil – 4 tbsp
  • ितखट / लाल िमर्च / Chili powder (non-spicy) – 1 tsp
  • Grinded masala
  • हळद / हल्दी / Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • मीठ / नमक / Salt – per taste
  • कोथंबीर / धिनया पत्ता / Coriander leaves

Instructions Curry

  1. Clean and wash dried shrimp
  2. Now in a pan, add oil heat on medium
  3. Add chili powder, mix well
  4. Add grinded masala, mix well
  5. Sauté till oil and masala starts to separate
  6. Add turmeric mix well
  7. Drain shrimp and add them to masala, mix well
  8. Add salt, mix well
  9. Add water, mix. and simmer for 4-5 min
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  11. Curry is ready to serve!

Tips

  1. Grind masala fine to get nice gravy consistency
  2. Adjust water to get desired consistency
  3. Serve with Bhakri, chapati, rice
